A talk on “Empowering Women in Cyber security: Bridging the Gender Gap for a Safer Digital World" was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with the ACM student chapter on April 8 2024, for 2nd year CSE female students.
The seminar was conducted by Prof (Dr.) Manju Khari, a Professor in the School of Computer and Systems Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. Dr. Khari's expertise is not limited to academia, as she is also a highly valued member and research consultant of several noteworthy projects in collaboration with prominent institutions such as AIMS, the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), DST, and the CSIR-NPL under the Ministry of Consumer and Legal Affairs in India.
A total of 110 students participated in the workshop on April 8, 2024, and explored various dimensions of cyber security. The workshop aimed to help students understand security features in the cyber world, including authentication, authorization, and integrity. Additionally, it addressed challenges with digital devices, communication, and protocols. The seminar also focused on the role of women in cyber security and discussed present and future challenges in the field. The coordinators of the workshop were Dr. Sonam Gupta, Dr. Anuradha Taluja and Mr. Pradeep Gupta.
