The Department of Computer Science and Engineering successfully organized a One-Day Workshop on “Applied Statistics” on 13th October 2025 in association with Froyo Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Noida. The workshop was specifically designed for M.Tech 1st Year students to strengthen their conceptual and practical understanding of statistical methods and their applications in research and data-driven decision-making.

The session was conducted by Mr. Rajinder Chitoria, Founder & Director, Froyo Technologies Pvt. Ltd., who shared his extensive industry experience and insights into real-world applications of statistics in technology and research domains.

Objectives
• To introduce students to the principles of Statistical Inference and Decision Making.
• To provide hands-on exposure to Inferential Statistics and its role in analytical modeling.
• To enhance students’ ability to apply statistical reasoning in academic research and data analysis.
• To prepare students for a proctored global certification assessment by Certified Learning.

Outcomes
• Participants gained a clear understanding of applied statistical techniques relevant to research and data analytics.
• Students successfully completed a proctored certification assessment, earning a global certificate from Certified Learning.
• The workshop improved the participants’ ability to interpret data and apply statistical reasoning in their ongoing and future research projects.
• Positive feedback was received from students for the practical, application-oriented approach of the session.

Total 11 students participated in the workshop. The coordinator of the workshop was Dr. Sonam Gupta, Professor, CSE dept.
