On 03, November, a group of 60 engineering students of CSE department from Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad embarked on an insightful industrial visit to National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), a renowned Centre of Excellence in Weather and Climate Modeling operating under the Ministry of Earth Sciences,Noida Sec-58 NCMRWF stands as a beacon of excellence in the field of weather and climate modeling. Its commitment to research, collaboration, and technological innovation positions it as a vital resource for advancing our understanding of atmospheric processes and improving the accuracy of medium-range weather forecasts.

Total 02 speakers from industry talked on various topics as given below:

Dr Balakrishnan Athiyaman (Head, High Performance Computer) he has delivered his talk on One of the key principles behind HPC is parallel processing. Instead of relying on a single powerful processor, HPC systems divide complex tasks into smaller, manageable pieces and distribute them across multiple processors. It’s like having a team of experts working simultaneously on different parts of a problem, making it possible to tackle immense computations in a fraction of the time.

Dr. V.S. Prasad (Scientist-G): Dr.Prasad have discussed about The evolution of technology has revolutionized weather forecasting. Supercomputers crunch vast amounts of data, and satellites provide a bird’s eye view of our planet, enabling meteorologists to create more accurate and timely forecasts. Advanced radar systems and remote sensing technologies further enhance our ability to monitor and predict weather events.

OUTCOME of VISIT: The industrial visit to NCMRW provided a valuable learning experience for our engineering students, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application
